2023 was a rollercoaster for many in the art community, but it ended on a high note with the Road to ARTEL FEST: Winter Edition. Bringing together visionaries from across the creative community, including fine artists, live-painters, poets, performers, dancers, DJs, and even an interactive artificial intelligence station, on Friday December 22nd, ARTEL closed out the year with a bang.

The show was the first in a series of events designed to generate excitement and awareness for their major summer festival, of which ARTEL FEST derives the latter half of its name. ARTEL, which is stands for ‘Art Everyone Loves’ is led by Creative Director and Gallerist Rich Ramsay, whose vision for ARTEL FEST has grown since their initial launch in 2022. Their stated mission is to ‘create an inclusive community where artists of all types can come together and share their talents. With an emphasis on highlighting local artists and emerging talent, the ARTEL community offers a safe space for all to enjoy art, wherever the community comes together.”

And for The Winter Edition show, the community most certainly came together. Hosted in partnership with UP Magazine, the ARTEL FEST event had over 1000 guests attend the Williamsburg pop-up, held in the former space of local brand ‘Design Collab.’ The venue featured 3 floors, that were decked out in art from over 77 artists who participated. Among the artists whose work was featured were Maya Nicole, Licata Bean, Inksworth, King Kaci, Laura the Flower, to name but a few.

On the success of the event, Founder Rich Ramsay told UP, “ARTEL FEST is about love, community and peace. When you come to ARTEL FEST everyone is having fun, meeting new people, enjoying the art and making friends. I am on a mission to take ARTEL FEST all over the world and create this environment for as many people as I can. But ARTEL FEST is nothing without all the amazing artists who support us. We are absolutely nothing without the artists.”

Looking to the future, ARTELFEST has a slew of more events in the coming months as part of their build up to Summer 2024’s full ARTEL FEST Festival, for which UP Magazine is excited to be a partner for. To give a sneak peak, among these upcoming shows are – a community art mixer on Saturday February 24th, an Art Battle in March, and the Spring Edition of Road to ARTEL FEST in April, not to mention an international pop-up in Barcelona on March 15th and 16th.

Looking to the future, Ramsay shared his thoughts with UP, “Our team has some amazing things planned for this year, particularly leading up into the summer. We have our first European edition of ARTEL FEST in Barcelona. Plus, we have a bunch of events in New York, as part of the ramp up campaign for our festival this summer. And naturally there’ll be a few more surprises along the way!”
