GETTY L.A. GRAFFITI BLACK BOOK
Two worlds collided when the Getty Research Institute invited 151 Los Angeles graffiti artists to assemble a “Black Book” documenting the history of the graffiti culture in Los Angeles. To some it may be surprising that the Getty regarded graffiti as an art form. However, with the help of a perfect storm, this art institution may have just given a stronger voice for this commonly stigmatized art genre.
