One Art Space is pleased to present the exhibition “Greatness” with the internationally graffiti artist and abstract painter, Cope 2, who has his roots in the Bronx and has been writing graffiti since the late 1970s.

Exhibiting Cope 2’s collection of abstract paintings that experiment with color and merge into the realms of graffiti and collage, it becomes evident in the collection that Cope 2 recognized the importance of signs and symbols in a postmodern world dominated by images and icons. The emergence of his abstract forms and colors infused with signs and symbols triumphs with a sense of natural fluidity.

Along with his abstract paintings on view, there will be his True legend iconic Cope2 Bubble letters paintings. As familiar and classic as the Coca Cola typeface logo and globally recognizable, the variations of Cope2 Bubble letters are ever evolving yet remaining intact with the elements of its core. This solo exhibition conveys the body of work of an Artist, who is a Naturalist, with the artist’s
safe feeling, confidence, and inspiration amidst his color and canvas.

Releasing “The Greatness”, limited editions, Cope2 second book detailing his life and art with updated contents. Greatness is what Cope 2 was able to achieve by putting art and graffiti as his guide and his north star. To this day, the
legend lives on, as Cope 2 continues to push the boundaries of what he can do as a graffiti artist and abstract painter, so that he can express his passion, talent, and integrity as an artist and a true devotee of graffiti. Cope 2 is a blue-chip artist, whose works have been sold on auctions, displayed in museums and who has collaborated on numerous projects with companies and brands, such as Adidas, Converse, and Time Magazine. He also appeared as a graffiti legend in the video game titled, Marc Ecko’s Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure in 2006. Lastly, Cope 2’s throw up was featured in the animated movie Shrek3 released in 2007
