We’re back! The Live Lounge partnership continues, as the PVD Entertainment crew took over for Live Lounge Session 12 on Thursday, November 6th. Following the massive success of our first event in August, we’re ready to build on that electric energy. That phenomenal first experience was just the beginning, and curator PVD was fired up for round two.

Ebelle Shum is a Hong Kong-born visual artist based in Brooklyn, New York. She is currently a mentor and in-house artist at Time to be Happy Gallery and a gallery assistant intern at Alisan Fine Arts New York. She holds a BFA in Painting from Pratt Institute, with minors in Art History, Museum and Gallery Practice, and Psychology.
Shum’s practice bridges the visual and conceptual spaces between East and West. Drawing from her Hong Kong upbringing and Western academic training, she reinterprets traditional oil painting through the lens of Chinese ink aesthetics, where gesture, emptiness, and temporality reflect an ongoing negotiation between these dual inheritances. Her works often unfold as intimate landscapes on escapism, identity, and romanticism. Figures and scenery drift between the real and the imagined, embodying the complexities of cultural hybridity and nostalgia. Through a nuanced balance of precision and ambiguity, Shum constructs painterly environments that feel suspended in time.
Recently, Ebelle has showcased her work in group exhibitions including Get Lucky – Kyoto, 0hi0m1ke & Friends Graffiti Art Exhibition, and Harmony by Guirellaartshows, held at an esteemed venue near Chelsea. She was also featured in an interview with Bold Journey Magazine and will be participating in the upcoming group exhibition Thriller at Tokio Delic, sponsored by TENTEN NYC, a non-profit art organization. Jaime Marrero is an evolving visual artist and street photographer understanding, adapting and creating in the ever changing world around him. Born in the Bronx, New York, this Puerto Rican artist’s world changed after moving upstate; as his influences from comic book and street art grew to fine art, surrealism and graphic art. The cultural change from city life to suburban life also influenced his language, using the contrast of nature, mountains and the serene versus buildings, concrete and chaos. Living away from the life he knew contributed to subject matter involving isolation, exploration, distance, communication and dreams as an influence. This new home in a deserted space led to exploration and would come to be the leading force in his journey into photography. As he struggled with art, he turned to exploring and photography as a creative outlet. Documenting street life and anything from the abstract to portraits. This new found love for street photography served as a catalyst back into art for Jaime. Both in photographing life in the art world itself to his approach shooting and drawing everyday life, social commentary, portraits and the mundane. All told within the evolved language of fine art combined with comic book street art and surrealism. Experimenting mediums such as pencil to inks and paints as well as different lenses and styles of shooting to depict dreamlike scenes, capturing life in its natural form or an intimate portrait.
