Live Lounge – Session #8 – Doechii Constellations Night
On Thursday July 3rd, we hosted our 8th in the Live Lounge series, a monthly variety show sponsored by Sour Mouse! The evening was co-curated by Tiany Bishop, founder of Shooting Star Productions. For Tiany B, sthey envisioned the night as a tribute to the multi-faceted musician Doechii. Inspired by Doechii’s gift for lyricism, Tiany selected creatives whose caliber matched that frequency. In their own word, they added:
“Live Lounge X Doechii Constellations Night was stellar! It was a pleasure collaborating with T.K. and Up Magazine as I integrated my Shooting Star Productions community to this new scene! I feel deeply privilege and grateful to be able to cultivate opportunities for the most deserving artists in the city. I believe in creating quality events with accessibility at the forefront, and collaborations like this only amplify us into a greater united front. I am calling in new heights, more honest art, and a collective honoring of our humanity for events to come. I love you always.” – Tiany B

His artist journey is defined by the past 10 years and counting, making music for 9, Curating for 3, and DJing and dabbling in Photography and Videography for 2 years! Through it all, he describes himself as a kid from the Bronx just tryna make it out being himself, insistent on being genuine, wholehearted and staying different. He treasures authenticity as the catalyst for creating his most personal art. What moves him the most is the impact created by like minded artists whose energy speaks for themselves, the magic that happens when people who are deeply committed to their craft find one another. He expresses thriving in his creative community by channeling connectivity as fuel that inspires him profoundly. “I used to say that I made music and created art to inspire others, but now I say I make music to inspire myself, in hopes it inspires others as well. That’s one of my mottos. I’ve been on a long journey as a music artist and overall creative, Sharpening my pen and cadence through poetry and singing with Phenomenal Voices as UAlbany student, discovering and branching out through the NYC music scene with WeArre5ive, and finding me and my people and my grounding as a full fledged artist and multifaceted creative as a part of Good Natured Souls. I’ve been on a long journey, but it’s helped me become who I am today, helped keep the passion that I’m still here pushing and I’m STILL ALIVE, and given people a whole new person to look at, listen to, and be inspired by.”
When people listen to his music, or think of Prince Inspiration, they can recognize being truly themselves, and really still make a difference in this world. Prince hopes his passion can make other creatives realize there’s even greater possibilities for them as well. Or even as simple as making a difference in your own life. You can do it, with your own will and your own power. Prince says “Be Yourself! and love yourself too. It’s taken me this far…imagine what it could do for you? This is me. PRINCE INSPIRATION.”
