Larko Land: A short documentary by Jeremy Huff, two years in the making, will premiere at Inspiration Point, Bronx, NY on Saturday July 19th, 5-8PM, at 710 Tiffany St, Bronx, NY 10474.
Please join us for the premiere of “Larko Land” a short film by filmmaker Jeremy Huff. The event starts at 5PM, Doors open at 4:45 PM. The evening will include a preview of the film, plus a short Q & A with Valeri Larko, Jeremy Huff, John Crash Matos, Julie Bayley and Mike Villanueva, moderated by filmmaker Pierre Guillet, followed by drinks and snacks and a pop-up exhibition of Valeri Larko’s urban plein air paintings in the upstairs WallWorks Gallery
Valeri Larko’s urban plein air paintings will be on view in the lobby of Inspiration Arts from Saturday July 19th through Friday July 25th. Hours for the pop up show at Wallworks’s upstairs Gallery are Wednesday through Friday 11am-5PM.
About the film: Larko Land is an intimate portrait of the life and creative process of urban plein air painter Valeri Larko.
For forty years, Valeri has been captivated by the industrial beauty of Northern New Jersey, where she grew up. In early 2004, Valeri moved to New Rochelle, NY and since then has been painting the overlooked corners of the Bronx, and surrounding areas. Filmed on location, the film follows her as she paints directly from life, transforming weathered buildings and forgotten spaces into vibrant works of art. Through intimate footage, Valeri reflects on her decades-long career and the many lives and stories she’s encountered along the way.
About the filmmaker: Jeremy Huff is a visual storyteller, creative collaborator, and longtime art enthusiast. With over 15 years of experience as a commercial video editor, he’s embarked on a new chapter focused on crafting films that celebrate people who make cool stuff.
