Love, Left Open – A Dreamy and Wistful Visual Arts Exhibition and Poetry Reading at Neighborly Events
Kew Gardens, Queens, NY – Woodhaven Art Circle is proud to present Love, Left Open, their inaugural gallery show celebrating love – love for the self, love for the family, love for the neighborhood, love for friends. Taking place from February 21st to February 28th 2026 at Neighborly Events, this highly anticipated event will feature 16 different artists, poetry reading at the opening reception, and a dance performance by critically acclaimed street performer Kanami Kusajima at the closing reception.
This exhibition explores love as a ritual – tender, private, and deeply rooted in place. Set in the heart of Queens, Love, Left Open moves through acts of self-love, neighborhood devotion, and the quiet inner worlds where affection lives, lingers, or gets buried.
Artists and poets reflect on love letters never sent, daily rituals of care, and the ways we tuck love into corners of ourselves and our communities. From the intimacy of personal devotion to the collective warmth of Queens streets, this show honors love as something practiced, not perfected.
Soft, playful, and reflective, the works invite viewers to wander through memories, gestures, and emotions that shape how we give love, protect it, and sometimes hide it, only to rediscover it again.
The exhibition will feature artwork from Alexandra Alvarez, Alexandria Lopez, Annamarie Carcione, Christiana Jackson, DARKRECONSTRUCTION, Jennifer Lambert, Jessica Duan, Mahfuza Shammy Rahman, Maximus Clarke, Nicole Cuéllar, Patricia Abrego, Pragya Agarwal, Rebecca Morales, Sunny Alonzo, Shelby Henry, and Victoria Perez.
Opening reception will feature poetry readings by Kashfia Naz, Eleanor Sturm, Samanvitha Danda, Fabliha Yeaqub, Isabella Panico, James Siho Lee, Jane McBride, Jasmine Rosario, and Pragya Agarwal.
Closing reception will feature a dance performance by multidisciplinary powerhouse Kanami Kusajima.
