PLG ARTS ANNOUNCES SECOND ANNUAL OUTDOOR ARTS FEST WITH MORE THAN 40 LOCAL ARTISTS FROM PROSPECT-LEFFERTS GARDENS AND SURROUNDING AREAS

New York, New York— PLG Arts announces its second annual outdoor PLG Arts Fest, Saturday September 30, 12:00-5:00 p.m., rain or shine. The Fest will feature works from more than 40 local artists, whose creations will be on display and available for purchase against the backdrop of Prospect-Lefferts Gardens neighborhood homes, storefronts, and adjacent streets.

Having welcomed more than 500 visitors during its inaugural event last fall, this year’s footprint spans Rogers and Nostrand Avenues from Sterling to Hawthorne Streets, with more than 20 businesses and 13 homes offering their sidewalks and outdoor spaces to welcome artists and passerbys. During the event, visitors are invited to enjoy  hands-on art-making activities for families at the Sugarcane and Cotton Gallery, food and items from local restaurants and businesses, and live music along the route. The Arts Fest is suitable for all ages and supported by the Brooklyn Arts Council and NY State Assembly Member Brian Cunningham.

“PLG Arts Fest is a time to celebrate the vibrancy and creativity of Prospect-Lefferts Gardens,” notes Assembly Member Brian A. Cunningham. “I am proud to support PLG Arts as they bring community members together through the beauty and joy of art, and I look forward to their continued growth in the years to come.”  “The afternoon is our way of celebrating a neighborhood that is so rich with art and community,” adds a representative of PLG Arts. “Let’s continue to make the arts free and accessible for everybody while also giving artists a platform to be seen and supported.”

PROGRAM SCHEDULE:
Arts Fest 2023 will be held Saturday, September 30, from 12-5 p.m. on Rogers and Nostrand Avenues from Sterling to Hawthorne Streets and in front of homes between Nostrand and Bedford Avenues in Prospect Lefferts Gardens. In the event of rain, artwork and music will be moved indoors.

The event route is accessible by the 2 and 5 subway lines at the Sterling Street and Winthrop Street stations, and the Q line at the Prospect Park station. Citibikes are on Maple Street and Flatbush, and on Bedford and Nostrand Avenues.

An interactive and comprehensive map of participating artists will be available.
