Road to ARTEL FEST: Barcelona Edition Recap

Written by T.K. Mills

In March 2024, ARTEL FEST followed up their massively successful winter show with their first international event: ARTEL FEST Barcelona. Partnering with local establishment, Arteria Boutique – a gallery that typically focuses on highlighting female artists – ARTEL FEST was excited to land in a new city. Featuring art by @ninon_reo @elisaneriart @gavrilba @shiritaki @culkeen @rockaxson  @getlostcollages and music by @feverofcreation, the event was a hit.

The show was the latest in a series of events designed to generate excitement and awareness for their major summer festival, of which ARTEL FEST derives the latter half of its name. ARTEL, which stands for ‘Art Everyone Loves’ is led by Creative Director and Gallerist Rich Ramsay, whose vision for ARTEL FEST has grown since their initial launch in 2022. Their stated mission is to ‘create an inclusive community where artists of all types can come together and share their talents. With an emphasis on highlighting local artists and emerging talent, the ARTEL community offers a safe space for all to enjoy art, wherever the community comes together.”

“This was our first time doing a show in Europe, and it was amazing to see how many artist traveled from all over Europe. We also featured a number of artists from the United States and the United Kingdom. it’s really great to to see how art can bring so many people together.” Founder Rich Ramsay said.

On the success of the event, Founder Rich Ramsay told UP, “ARTEL FEST is about love, community and peace. When you come to ARTEL FEST everyone is having fun, meeting new people, enjoying the art and making friends. I am on a mission to take ARTEL FEST all over the world and create this environment for as many people as I can. But ARTEL FEST is nothing without all the amazing artists who support us. We are absolutely nothing without the artists.”

Looking to the future, Ramsays said, “We have a bunch of shows planned! We will be back in Barcelona this summer, as well as a London event. Plus our biggest festival yet will be this summer in New York. We are so thankful for all of the support from everyone in Barcelona – the line was down the street before doors even opened! For our first event in the city, it was beyond amazing. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came and all the artists who participated.”
