The Female Trailblazers in Chilean Street Art

Who is, and who can be a graffiti artist? In pre-90s Chile, the answer was exclusively men. Until, in 1994, Andrea Cecilia Bernal started tagging ACB in Viña del Mar, and in 1996 [FC], all-female crews began painting in Santiago. These were Chile’s first generation of female artists, overturning conventions of who a graffiti artist is.
