188 Allen Street Gallery: “A Beautiful Moment”
The destruction of the shed in front of the former Cheese Grill did more than rid the block of one of Manhattan’s countless street-side dining spaces. It was the end of a brief, shining moment in the history of art in New York City, an unprecedented period of creativity, community and jollification. Celebrating the short life of 188 Allen, J. Scott Orr speaks with curator SacSix and the art community, reflecting on what it represented.

Press Release: High Spirits at La Fleur Café
La Fleur Cafe x UP Magazine are pleased to announce “High Spirits,” an upcoming group art show featuring @robertblanco_ @dirtcobain @josiewoodss @krjones_ @nyckushco @lexibellaart @lifeisgoodtheartist @outersource @sacsix @saviorelmundo @vk.nyc.art @yawshbm at La Fleur Cafe’s, located at 437 East 9th Street in New York City.
The show will run from April 19th to May 19th, with an opening reception on Wednesday April 19th from 6pm to 11pm. “High Spirits” will showcase a diverse range of art pieces from emerging & established artists in the New York City area across a variety of mediums, including paintings and mixed media pieces, while exploring themes related to cannabis culture, nature, and spirituality.

Wood You March: Plywood as Canvas
Renowned NYC graffiti artist Optimo NYC curated an exhibition of plywood boards painted on retail storefronts in 2020 in support of the Black Lives Matter movement at Sun Art NYC gallery in Brooklyn.
